Obstacles are placed in front of people for them to overcome their journey. Every path has a starting point and an end point. In between those points are the rough patches, which represent the struggles and the challenges one goes through to reach that destination. Once you reach the finish line, you think everything is at its final chapter. When one door closes, another one opens and with one chapter done, another one begins.

            Bank on Yourself is a photography series that follows a person who always has his eyes looking towards the future. This work involves an artist seeing through his perspective, a fellow classmate and friend, reach the top of the mountain through hard work and perseverance. A friend, almost as close as a sibling, sticking to the path and never letting anyone give up on him. Each image shows an image of a man that will give the world everything he has to reach his destination. No matter what stands in his way, people will be there to support him through high and low tides.

            The intention of this work is to have the viewer look at a person who never stopped believing in himself and see everything to the very end. People face trials and tribulation either on a daily basis, once every week, or once every month. Others give up on everything, or stop at the beginning stages. There are some that probably have not even realized their potential, and that is alright. There is one thing that is true, everyone will find their calling card. Every person is unique in their own way. It is up to you to decide your starting point and your end point. Your journey is like the ocean. It is full of endless possibilities. Your destination is guided by a limitless wind.
